Welcoming our SPICE Winter 2024 Cohort!

Roberta Mesquita, originally from Brazil, is the owner of Paolucci Pasta. All about bringing authentic Italian goodness with a fun twist to Halifax!

Tanya Suenfa, originally from the Mauritius Islands, is the owner of MO GÂTO Mauritian Baked Goods Bakery. Through her food, you will explore Mauritius Island in every bite!

You can find Tanya selling her goods at local farmers’ markets and events.

Gineen Thomas is the owner of Neen’s Cuisine. Vegetarian/Vegan international soul food, it’s a party for your mouth!

As well as doing custom catering, Gineen also caters for events large and small, including celebrations, markets, meetings, luncheons, and anything that requires food.

Hina Shehzadi, originally from Pakistan is the owner of, Liyari Waley – Healthy Vegan and Vegetarian Food from Pakistan.  

Every Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Hina will be selling her food at the Tatamagouche farmer’s market. Her vegan and vegetarian curries are all served with Basmati rice and garlic naan!

Oluwatoyin Adegbenro has recently started her business journey with the dream of cooking different varieties of Nigerian delicacies! 


Vanessa Linares, originally from Cuba, is the owner of La Casita Kitchen. Bringing a combination of flavours and cuisines to the market, catering, and, of course, bringing the flavour home.

You can find Vaness’s at various farmers markets during the weekends, including the Halifax Forum Farmers Market, Alderney Landing Farmers Market, and the Seaport Farmers Market.

SM Mocktails is a non-alcoholic beverage business aimed at providing refreshing and delicious mocktails to individuals of all ages.
