CWB proud recipient of WBE Canada Champion Award
The Centre for Women in Business (CWB) was honoured to win the 2023 WBE Canada Champion Award at the recent WBE Canada National Conference, “Women Impact: Leading Innovation and Growth”. This award was given in recognition of an organization that demonstrates commitment to supplier diversity in Canada.
Upon receiving the award, CWB Executive Director Tanya Priske shared “The WBE Canada Champion award is important to the CWB’s success and our role in advancing supplier diversity opportunities with women-owned businesses in Atlantic Canada. Our recent partnership with WBE Canada to develop and deliver a mentorship program in our region has exceeded our expectations but also, it’s no surprise that when you give women-owned businesses the right supports, networks, and skills they’re propelled to incredible places!”
Our Supplier Diversity Program, Partnering to Build Capacity: Atlantic Canada Mentorship is completely virtual and open to all four Atlantic Provinces. Through this program we pair eligible women business owners with a corporate mentor and a WBE certified mentor helping participants to increase their knowledge of working with larger organizations and supply chains. Check out our mentorship program page for more information or to be added to the waitlist for future cohorts.
Other supplier diversity specific supports offered by the CWB include our annual Supplier Diversity Day Events. Co-hosted with the WBE Canada, the Supplier Diversity Alliance Canada (SDAC), Women in Business New Brunswick (WBNB), and PEI Business Women’s Association (PEIBWA) these in-person Atlantic Canadian events are designed to open the supply chain to all diverse business owners interested in expansion beyond our provincial borders and is open to corporations or any level of government interested in engaging with diverse suppliers. Stay tuned for more information on our next event!
