Community Spotlight: From Frustration to Transformation: How Aigility Hub is Making AI Human

For Melissa Lloyd, the heart of AI adoption has little to do with the tech itself and everything to do with people.

“Aigility Hub was born out of deep frustration I experienced in my other business in 2022,” Melissa explained. “I was stretched thin, wearing too many hats, and struggling to find the resources I needed to keep things running smoothly. That’s when I began exploring generative AI, not just at a surface level, but diving deep into how the models worked.”

The results were immediate. Melissa realized AI wasn’t just a way to save her own business but that it could be transformative for countless other small and medium size businesses facing the same pressures.

“As I spoke with more business owners, I kept hearing the same thing, ‘I know AI matters, but I have no idea where to start.’ That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a tool problem, it was a people and mindset problem.”

That insight sparked the launch of Aigility Hub, designed to make AI approachable, human, and practical. Today, the business works with small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, consultants, and professional service firms. Leaders who want to explore AI and embrace change without overwhelming themselves and their teams or sacrificing their values.

“What makes us different is our approach,” Melissa said. “We blend emotional intelligence with AI education. We meet people where they are. Whether they’re excited, skeptical, or scared. We help them move from hesitation to confidence. It’s not about pushing tools. It’s about helping leaders and teams build the mindset they need for real, sustainable transformation.”

When asked what advice she would give to aspiring entrepreneurs, Melissa’s answer was clear “curiosity and alignment come first.”

“You don’t need all the answers, just the courage to ask better questions about how the business landscape is changing,” Melissa expressed. “Build something that reflects who you are, not just what you think the market wants. The journey will stretch you. Some days it will feel like a leap of faith. But when you create something that feels aligned, it becomes much more than a business, it becomes a way to serve, grow, and lead.”

Melissa also stressed the importance of sustainability, “rest is part of the work, so is asking for help. That last one can be tough, and mindset plays a big role in making it possible.”

“CWB has offered something every entrepreneur needs, community,” Melissa said. “There’s something powerful about being surrounded by women who are building, learning, and navigating uncertainty, just like you. Knowing I’m not doing this alone has made all the difference.”

Melissa explained that the biggest trends shaping AI right now are happening behind the scenes.

“One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing is shadow AI. Employees using tools like ChatGPT on their own, without formal guidance. This tells us people are ready to explore, but leadership often isn’t aligned or doesn’t know how to move forward. This can expose the company to risk.”

“We’re also seeing a move from hype to humanness. The best AI strategies aren’t driven by tech, they’re led by values, use cases (interactions between a user and a system to achieve specific goals), trust and the ability to be agile. The companies who win won’t be the ones using the most tools, but the ones who know why they’re using them, use them well, and who’ve brought their people along for the journey.”

With AI evolving at lightning speed, staying current can be difficult. But Melissa has learned not to chase every new update.

“Every day I wake up, there’s a new update. I don’t chase every new tool or every piece of news anymore. Instead, we focus on the core tools making the biggest impact, and more importantly, on what truly matters, behavior, mindset, culture, AI literacy, and meaningful integrations.”

For Melissa, staying on top of things comes down to curiosity and listening. “We’re always testing new use cases and listening closely to what our clients are struggling with. And we design all our programs to be grounded, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent, so they stay relevant, no matter how fast the tools evolve.”

For Aigility Hub, ethics aren’t an afterthought; they’re a cornerstone.

“Responsible AI starts with asking, ‘just because we can, should we?’ Ethics isn’t just about data privacy or algorithms. I believe it’s about intention. Are we using AI to reduce harm? Are we building systems that respect people’s dignity, creativity, and agency?”

That approach means guiding clients not just on what AI can do, but what it should do. “Responsibility starts with dialogue, reflection, and making space for uncomfortable questions. That’s where trust is built.”

In the next two years, Aigility Hub has ambitious goals.

“Our biggest goal is to help 5000 plus Canadian businesses confidently integrate AI in a way that’s values-aligned, timesaving, and deeply human,” Melissa said. “We’re scaling our flagship program, the AI Readiness Accelerator, which guides leadership teams from confusion to clarity in just six weeks. I am very excited about this!”

Ultimately, Melissa’s vision for Aigility Hub is about more than AI adoption, it’s about resilience, leadership, and humanity.

“AI isn’t just a tech shift, it’s a people shift,” Melissa shared. “If we want to build and keep companies that thrive in the age of AI, we need to lead with humility, emotional intelligence, and courage. The best part? You don’t have to be ‘techie’ to get started, or to succeed. At Aigility Hub, we’re not here to push tools. We’re here to help people build the mindset that makes the tools matter. And yes, we make sure to have a little fun along the way too.”
