Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Across Canada: CWB Advisory Board

At the Centre for Women in Business (CWB), we believe that every woman entrepreneur in Canada deserves access to the tools, resources, and support necessary to build a thriving, sustainable business. With over 30 years of experience in the entrepreneurship ecosystem, CWB proudly supports women at every stage of their business journey, from launching their first venture to scaling for national and international growth.

In 2024, we proudly re-established our Advisory Board—an exciting step forward that invites passionate, experienced individuals to help shape the future of CWB. This renewed board plays a pivotal role in guiding our strategic direction, strengthening our programming, and ensuring that women entrepreneurs are empowered to seize emerging economic opportunities in Atlantic Canada and across the country.

We are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment. Representation matters—and we know that true inclusion begins with seeing yourself reflected in leadership. That’s why we have built a board that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.

Our Advisory Board is made up of dedicated, skilled professionals who are passionate about supporting women in business. Together, they will influence our strategic planning, inform our program development and delivery, and play a key role in helping us advance our mission.

Our vision is a commitment to ensuring women-owned businesses have equal access to opportunities within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. As we look to the future, our guiding principles remain clear:

  • Community: We are a supportive, welcoming network of women in business, where connection and collaboration thrive.
  • Innovation: We embrace creativity and forward-thinking solutions to foster business growth and resilience.
  • Impact: We are driven by a commitment to economic empowerment and long-term success for women entrepreneurs.

Key focus areas for our board and organization include:

  • Identifying barriers to women’s entrepreneurship and exploring evidence-based best practices
  • Supporting community-led, collaborative approaches that drive results
  • Evaluating outcomes and continuously improving our programs based on measurable impact
  • Providing informed input on provincial and national issues affecting women in business

Together with our Advisory Board and broader community, CWB is building a future where women entrepreneurs have the resources, voice, and visibility they deserve.
