August 20, 2019: RBC and Centre for Women in Business offering program for young women entrepreneurs

Since 2017, RBC and the Centre for Women in Business at Mount Saint Vincent University have been hosting the Alliance of Young Women Entrepreneurs (AYWE) program to increase the number of young women student entrepreneurs at MSVU.

July 29, 2019: Online mentorship launched for women in Nova Scotia's communications and technology sectors

Better yet, do both! Women in Communication and Technology Nova Scotia (WCT NS) has launched a new online mentorship program. If you are a female in Nova Scotia’s growing communications and technology industries, or planning to enter these growing sectors, you can now cast your net far and wide into an established professional network for guidance from someone who has experience travelling your path.


July 9, 2019: Minister Jordan announces Women Entrepreneurship Strategy investments in Atlantic Canada 

On July 9, the Honourable Bernadette Jordan (Minister of Rural Economic Development and Member of Parliament for South Shore-St. Margarets), on behalf of the Honourable Mary Ng, (Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion), announced two non-repayable investments totaling $4,025,892 in WES funding to the Centre for Women in Business (CWB) and Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE).

June 26, 2019: PEIBWA announces new Rural Women's Business Centre

The PEI Business Women's Association has received $500, 000 in funding from the governments of Canada and Prince Edward Island for a new Rural Women's Business Centre.

June 10, 2019: Minister Ng launches the Canada Business App 

Minister Ng was in Markham to announce the launch of the Canada Business App - the first-ever mobile app for Canadian business owners, which provides a one-stop-shop for all business matters – right at the touch of your fingertips.

 

This new app complements the Government of Canada’s efforts to make it easier for small businesses, and helps small business owners navigate government services, receive tailored recommendations and personalized notifications on funding applications or when to file taxes. You can now download the Canada Business App on the App Store here, and on Google Play here.
